A group project redesigning the onboarding experience for “What Caused This,” a Root Cause Analysis platform. Our goal was to make the platform easier to access and understand for new users.
What Caused This was previously locked behind a contact form and manual demo booking process, limiting accessibility for smaller businesses and individual users. The challenge was to design a more user-friendly onboarding flow - giving users a way to explore the product independently, understand its value quickly, and onboard with minimal friction.

I focused on onboarding flows from tools like Qualio and explored how they use guided walkthroughs to reduce confusion and boost engagement. I also mapped out the key actions users take in the platform to decide what was worth including in the tour. Since this was a team project, my role was specifically to design the product tour section.
I prototyped multiple versions of the walkthrough UI, testing things like layout, button placement, colour, and step indicators. The final design includes a clean intro screen, clear step-by-step guidance, and visual cues throughout. It was built to match brand guidelines and integrates into the wider onboarding experience created by the group.
