Beyond Pages
A reflective journal project documenting my design journey, personal growth, and key lessons learned throughout my first academic year at university.
As part of my first-year studies at Norwich University of the Arts, I was tasked with creating a reflective journal to document my learning journey. Due to my focus on UX design, I had the unique opportunity to develop my journal as a custom website. The goal was to reflect on key projects, industry insights, and personal growth while showcasing my skills in web design and digital storytelling. I aimed to create an interactive, user-friendly experience that brought the content to life in a visually engaging way.

I collected material throughout the year, documenting personal growth, design thinking, and reflections on my work. I researched various reflective journal formats, exploring how digital storytelling could enhance engagement. The research informed the structure and design of the website, ensuring it was easy to navigate while maintaining a cohesive narrative.
The design process started with structuring the content into key sections, including projects, industry insights, and personal reflections. I focused on creating a clean and engaging layout that made the content easy to navigate. Using Webflow, I built the website from scratch without relying on templates, allowing for a fully custom design. I experimented with typography, colour schemes, and interactive elements to enhance the storytelling and create a cohesive digital experience that reflected my growth in UX design.
